Weirdest/Coolest Demo Submission EVER?!?!

Around here in the good ol’ A&R department, part of the daily routine is to collect the mail and pick up all the demos. What I didn’t expect was this:

WHAT'S IN THE BOX!?!?!

A MYSTERY BOX!

Contents included:
A mobile phone (turned on) with only the artists phone number stored in.
Snapped drum stick heads.
Leaves & Twigs.
A CD + Bio from the artist.

Contents...

Then to push it further into demo submission obscurity, he called the phone later that day & I picked up to have a chat. Was reassuring to find out (mainly that it wasn’t a bomb threat) that he was actually a really nice guy!

Weird approach to gather attention, but definitely cool. Let’s hope the music lives up to it too!

I like it (25 people like this)

What was the artist/band name? or he/she/they aren’t that good musicians as they are prop makers?

I’ve heard some funny stories about how people get job interviews/get noticed (have a look at http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m3065/is_n7_v22/ai_13976300/), but this one if possibly the best!

    What a brilliant Idea!

I’ve heard of people sending pizzas and fast food, but this definitely takes the cake!

Has anything further happened with this artist?
