This is… Miami Horror!

So who’s managed to see Miami Horror playing live at the Groovin The Moo festivals so far?

A member of our A&R team, Jaclyn jumped in the trusty Tarago last Saturday morning and made the trip up to Maitland for the festival. Without actually having a pass for the event, she managed to sneak her way side of stage unnoticed and take this great footage of MH for y’all to see!

I absolutely love Josh’s (the singer) dance move at around 1min 30secs. Pure brilliance!

Hope all of you kids are ready for Miami Horror at the Triple J One Night Stand in Gippsland on the 30th May.

Free Coldplay album for download

For those of you who haven’t gotten enough Coldplay in the last few months – Viva La Vida, the Prospekt’s March EP, and a not half bad stadium world tour – here’s another hit.

The band are giving a new free live nine track album Left Right Left Right Left at www.coldplay.com/lrlrl. The album is available for for download until they play their final 2009 show.

On the fist-pump-for-Sydney-music front, triple j darlings and Sydney formed band Howling Bells will be opening for Coldplay for their next 24 shows. Go Juanita!

On the set with Paul Dempsey

Mr. Paul Dempsey is a very busy man. He’s only just returned from an overseas sojourn to mix and master his upcoming album, announced a June solo tour, and is making a video for the single Out the Airlock.

Here’s how that is looking thus far…

Out the Airlock

Out the Airlock single is available now from iTunes.

Supermarket Massacre

I must admit, when I first blogged about this Jet track – I did not invision a Hot Fuzz-esque Shopping Market Massacre.

ORRIGHT!!

The South London geezer, Jamie T has just dropped his first single ‘Sticks N Stones’ from his sophomore album which is set to be due out in Spring.

It’s been getting quite a bit of Triple J & SYN FM love already – but here it is in it’s full explicit glory (LANGUAGE ALERT!) on the interweb.

Get innit!

Ben Harper & Relentless7 – Live At The Metro

The lovely folks at Moshcam have put up their footage of the entire Ben Harper & Relentless7 gig at the Metro Theatre in April.

A definite highlight was ‘Fly One Time’. It was great to see the crowd so into a song that they’d never even heard!

Bob Evans’ interpretation of Not Fair

This morning, Bob Evans boldly went into his Like A Version session on Triple J to cover Lily Allen’s Not Fair. That’s a brave man. Listen to his twangy, slowed down take on it with guitarist Ben helping out — it starts at the 4:15 mark.

Firekites gets some blog lovin’ from Kanye West

After premiering on Rage as the Indies Clip of the Week, the video for Autumn Story by the Firekites has made its way to Kanye West. Kanye loved it so much he posted it on his blog!

Created by Lucinda Schreiber and Yanni Kronenberg, this video took six months to complete and consists of 1910 individual chalk drawings!

Na na na na na, na na na, Hey Jude…

Nothing like having over 13,000 people singing along to The Beatles classic Hey Jude to stop traffic in London’s Trafalgar Square. T-Mobile are up to their commercial antics again after the success of ‘The Dance’ at Liverpool Station.

This time instead of getting the punters to shake their groove things, Karaoke was the flavour of the day. Not sure that London’s got that much talent but at least they chose a great track and pulled off a cameo from Pink (oh and Santa Claus).

DIY Pet Shop Boys video

The Pet Shop Boys have posted their own clip for the single ‘Did You See Me Coming?’ Twenty-five years after ‘West End Girls’, they are still the masters of cool detachment.
