Rainy Days and Fridays

Friday. 4pm. Sydney is doing its best imitation of both London and Seattle. So, I’ve canvassed my colleagues for their rainy day favourites and — voila! — we’ve got a soundtrack for basking in dreariness.

  2. Elliott Smith – Say Yes (Liesl)
  3. Death In Vegas ft Iggy Pop – Aisha (Kara)
  4. I Am Kloot – Morning Rain (Craig)
  5. Split Enz – Six Months in a Leaky Boat (Mark)
  6. Grinderman – When My Loves Comes Down (Glenn)
  7. Garbage – I’m Only Happy When It Rains (Vanessa)
  8. Marvin Gaye – Inner City Blues (Asha)
  9. The Doors – Riders on the Storm (Vanessa)
  10. Blind Melon – No Rain (Mark)
  11. The Verve – On Your Own (Tara)
  12. Kyuss – Demon Cleaner (Kara)
  13. Travis – Why Does It Always Rain On Me? (Liesl)
  14. The Sundays – Here’s Where the Story Ends (Tara)
  15. Dirty Three – Better Go Home Now (Glenn)
  16. The Czars – Song to the Siren (Craig)
    and but of course…

Even though this video is shot in sunny california, the sound of the windscreen wipers always reminds me of a rainy day in England..

I love the Elliott Smith song. He’s a genius!
