The PS22 Chorus take on Emperor Steele and Chris Martin

Remember being ten years old and swaying earnestly, hand-on-heart,  to the Care Bears theme song? Yeah, well these kids would kick your butt anyday. They sway to Survivor, Journey and Passion Pitt and sing with Joan Jett and Tori Amos.

The PS22 Chorus is a choir of fifth-graders from Public School #22 on Staten Island, N.Y. who, chorally directed by super-rad music teacher Gregg Breinberg, have become my #1 reason why it’s awesome to live in the Age of YouTube.

Nine million YouTube views later, they’re on Nightline and MTV, and taking on Empire of the Sun and Coldplay in Central Park with a global following.
