Paul Dempsey and The 12th Man came to visit EMI for a special occasion
Last week we had the fabuloso Paul Dempsey in the office to come play for us at our Head of HR Jo Perkin’s farewell.
After some really lovely speeches from key people Jo worked with at EMI over her ten years, we presented her with a plaque containing a framed lyrics sheet of her favourite song by her favourite artist Paul Dempsey Take Us To Your Leader as a token of appreciation from EMI past and present…and then Paul Dempsey himself arrived to sing for us Jo’s favourite song Take Us To Your Leader.

It was the least we could do for our amazing Head of HR and true music fan.
The next day was a massive one with Robbie Williams and 12th man releasing on the same day, so in true EMI style we chilled out over some drinks and nibbles on Friday evening after a hectic week!
After a few games of lawn bowls at Paddington Bowls, we presented Billy Birmingham (aka The 12th Man) with a plaque to commemorate 2 million sales. He told us a few stories about his career as an artist and also about EMI back in the day when he worked as PR manager for us. Pretty cool stuff.

Great post, guys. I’d love to read more of these insights into the daily workings of EMI and its staff.
