Let’s get to know…White Rabbits

whiterabbits1

A new addition to the Mute label family is Brooklyn-based six-piece White Rabbits. The band formed at the University of Missouri and like many before them headed east to the proverbial bright lights, big city.

It all seems to be going along swimingly with the release of their sophomore album, It’s Frightening, produced by none other than Spoon frontman Britt Daniel. His influence can be heard on the album with a striking mix of intensity, energy and intelligence. Plus, all six band members can play drums!

Percussion Gun starts the album off with a bang. The band’s video clip was nausea-inducing as Stephen Patterson (vocals, piano) explained to LAist recently: “Oh yeah, that shoot was completely nauseating. We were all horribly sick ten to fifteen minutes into that first hour.”

The song also got a very pretty treatment from the creative department of Ralph Lauren. Two very different takes on a very cool song. White Rabbits will make their Australian debut in December at Falls Festival. More info here.
