Fellow InSounder Fez headed down to Melbourne this week and witnessed an incredible spontaneous performance from The Cat Empire at Flinders St. Station.

The maestro team of Felix, Harry, Ollie, Ryan, Will, & Jumps played four songs to a crowd of very excited and surprised city-folk. The set included a cool rendition of The Strokes’ Last Night and the catchy as hell new single Feeling’s Gone.

So The Cat Empire now join the likes of Bluejuice, Kisschasy, British India, and Basement Birds (feat. Kevin Mitchell AKA Bob Evans) as part of the Channel [V]’s Guerilla gig series. The gig will premiere on Channel [V] very soon keep the TV switched on.

Everyone wants a piece of the country’s most talented band (I don’t say that lightly – have you seen these boys live!?) right now though… here’s a peek into the secret life of the band when they recorded their album Cinema.

What’s MOST exciting however, is the super cool album launch the boys will be playing an incredible globally broadcast album launch gig for Cinema on June 20.
