Eliza Doolittle, live at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory, 30/11/2010
As expected, Eliza Doolittle blew us all away last night with her performance at the Oxford Art Factory, showing us exactly why she is one of the hottest acts in the UK right now!
Eliza played all the hits-to-be from her self titled debut album, with the audience easily knowing which songs to bop to (Pack Up) and which to sway (Nobody). Continuing to woo an already won over crowd, she performed a cover of Big Jet Plane from our very own Angus & Julia Stone (Eliza learned it just for us and made it sound far dirtier than originally intended!). She then pointed out for those at the back that her fondness for Australia didn’t stop there – she was also wearing a Koala t-shirt too! (a stoned koala nonetheless). Another crowdpleaser Cee Lo Green’s Fuck You had the room singing along. If you haven’t already I suggest you check her version out online!

Not only does Eliza have a voice beyond her years and an amazing ear for music she has an eye for talent too! Proof in the form of her bass player Chris who I’m sure has stolen many hearts with his cheeky grin and Abercrombie & Fitch hair!
Eliza’s amazing performance won over the most skeptical of skeptics (who I saw dancing away from the bar) and she proved that this is just the start – she is definitely a star on the rise!
