We had been warned about the Gympie muster, and it lived up to all the expectations. Our journey began on the Friday when we headed to the property, it was raining and the travel was slow. Driving through the camp sites we encountered the “Bra Bar” and “The Cock’s Inn” – we knew we were in for an interesting weekend. Stepping out of the car and into the mud we joined the thousands of people who were already well into the celebrations of great music and good company. There was plenty of music. Some of the fantastic local artists included Busby Marou, Luke Austen, Kasey Chambers, Shane Nicholson, Catherine Britt, McAlister Kemp, Bill Chambers, Beccy Cole, Luke Dickens and Troy Cassar-Daley. Highlight for me was standing in the mud with 10,000 people singing along with John Williamson to Waltzing Matilda and True Blue – what a moment! Thank you Gympie Muster, we had a great time… already looking forward to 2012.
