She may have lost the blue hair since her days as a California Gurl, but chart-topping bubblegum princess Katy Perry shows she’s still very into shooting things out of her chest with her new video for Firework. Perry ditches the whipped cream for shooting sparklers that have magical powers!

Her fireworks give an insecure young woman the confidence to cannon ball into a pool (bit weak, 4/10), one kid distracts a group of bullies with his card tricks, and another guy makes the first move on an unsuspecting clubber.

Directed by Dave Meyers and filmed on location in the picturesque night-time of Budapest, this clip has it all. Watch for Perry’s trademark two-step shuffle near the end.

After much speculation over the last few weeks, it’s official… Ms California Gurl Katy Perry is heading (back) to Australia on her California Dreams tour!

It’s her biggest tour yet and Katy’s come a long way since her last official world tour when Australia was only just being introduced to I Kissed A Girl. To see her belt out the hits from her Platinum #1 album Teenage Dream (yannow, the cotton candy scented one!?), like California Gurls, Teenage Dream, newbie Firework, and my personal fave Peacock (lyrics are great for yelling at boys at 3am on a messy Saturday morning), you’ll have to be super-prepared… Tix are on sale from Ticketmaster (Sydney) & Ticketek (other cities) from 9am November 4, with pre-sale tix available from the Monday prior, November 1.
