The ARIAs Aftermath: The EMI / Music Network ARIA Afterparty

Lo Fi Bar were hosts to EMI and The Music Network for this year’s ARIA Afterparty, and wow did it not disappoint!

Lo Fi Bar made over for EMI Having arrived early to an empty space the venue was quite unique with it’s warehouse space occupying the top floor fitted with fancy lighting and musically minded graffiti, this made for the perfect setting!

First up mixing duties were with my girl Hannah, and we kept the music funky and cool… and with the continual flow of champagne by 11pm, we already had the dance floor getting down and dirty!

(ed note: our lovely front desk admin Roxy is far too modest to spruik her talents, but we recommend you check out DJ Roxy online)

Everyone was up for a big night and next to hit up the decks were Bad Wives featuring our very own Marketing Manager Sarah Crane who jacked up the tunes with their bag of party mash-ups and old-skool hip-hop flavours. Much respect!

Momentarily stepping away from the DJ booth, I didn’t know where to look with all the A-listers and very best of Australian music choosing to party long into the night with us… Julia Stone, Birds of Tokyo, Miami Horror, Papa Vs Pretty, Oh Mercy, Art Vs Science, The Drones, and Operator Please… so sweet!

Word was the NERVO girls were in the house and I quickly returned to the dancefloor and jeez these girls are hot! Their mixing was flawless tech-meets-dirty-basslines and they came, conquered, and showed why they are the next big thing in dance music…

Big thanks to everyone who helped us have an amazing evening (that continued well past daylight for some). Quite accurately if we may say, Media Week deemed ours THE party to be at & have us a ★★★★★ star rock’n'roll rating. Damn straight!
