The Pink Floyd pig flys again
It’s been 35 years since the Pink Floyd pig first flew above the Battersea Power Station, and now it’s back. The famous flying pig floated above the iconic London landmark yesterday, almost 35 years after the original cover shoot. Differing from the original 1976 floatation which was shot for Pink Floyd’s Animals album sleeve, the 2011 event saw the Pig fly at the north end of Battersea Power Station next to the river. Sadly, two weeks prior to the event the original neoprene glued pig was officially declared not airworthy and a brand new high frequency welded PVC replica Pink Floyd Pig was made for the occasion.
Pink Floyd’s 14 studio albums have been remastered and are now available on CD. In addition there will also be lavish new versions of Dark Side Of The Moon, with Wish You Were Here and The Wall being given the deluxe treatment over the coming months. For more info go to the Why Pink Floyd? website.
