Directors Commentary on The Scare’s Could Be Bad video

Nothing says way too much time on your hands than firstly sitting back and watching you favourite Jean-Claude Van Damme movie… but then post-credits tucking into your next 6 pack  and another round of tim tams, and then watching the whole thing again with the director’s commentary.

Well consider this me giving you around 3 minutes of spare time you thought you never had thanks to J Award nominated Director Tom Noakes.

Last week Tom was nominated for the J Award for his video for Could Be Bad by The Scare so I dragged him into the office to sit down with us all and explain the process, the joy, the tears and the legs behind what will hopefully be the winning J Award video.

Homebakin’ with Paul Dempsey & The Scare

The proud owners of the greatly sought-after (and totally sold out) Homebake tickets must be feeling just that much more smug today with the second announcement of artists for the bill.

Joining the musical merriment at The Domain on the second announcement are Paul Dempsey and The Scare, along with notables Bridezilla, Red Riders, Gin Wigmore and more. These kids will be joining our boys JET, Tim Finn, and The Middle East.

Great line up for the festival that I daresay has the best food stalls as well.

Fans Coming Out Of The Woodwork (and Tattoo Parlour)

This week, Empire Of The Sun & The Scare deserve some serious kudos for their newly acquired fans.

From reports, Barack Obama’s favourite CD at the moment is Walking On A Dream by Empire Of The Sun. I guess it’s pushed further than Jay-Z now!

On Thursday night, The Scare had a girl come up to them after their show in Ballarat with a tattoo on her foot with some of their lyrics…. WHO TOLD YOU NOT TO BELIEVE….?

The Scare – From ‘Chivalry’ to ‘oozevoodoo’

The Scare have certainly changed / grown up from their debut album ‘Chivalry’ to their new album ‘oozevoodoo’.

I’ll let this nifty little video do the talking for me.

In conjunction with the release of ‘oozevoodoo’ today (YEAH!!!!) – The Scare are heading out on a mammoth tour with Children Collide all around the country for the next month. Dates are on the Myspace.

I strongly suggest you follow their twitter too, because knowing these boys – there’s going to be some very interesting stories from the road.

Assignment: Listen to The Scare’s oozevoodoo on repeat all week

The Scare’s new album oozevoodoo is streaming in full on their myspace (www.myspace.com/thescare) all week. Take advantage and play it on repeat until Friday and check out the guys in studio here.

We suggest that if you DO decide to embark on this endeavour, you don a pair of insulating fluffy headphones. Not that your neighbours won’t love oozevoodoo as much as we do. Really, we’re just concerned your building foundations may begin to crumble if you don’t.

When Friday rolls around, go pick it up from iTunes.

The Scare – Could Be Bad

THIS JUST IN.

Doesn’t this just look like the most fun clip to film… ever!?  The songs is Could Be Be Bad, by The Scare. The director is Tom Noakes. The apartment is in Surry Hills, Sydney, and all the chaos is real. Someone give me a beanbag to burst!

The album Ozevoodoo was produced by Daniel Johns & is out on September 4.

The Scare – Oozevoodoo

I am oozing voodoo right now baby! (oh, is that not a good mental image??)

Oozevoodoo – Daniel Johns’ debut production effort – is unleashed on Sept 4, and we’re planning another massive, loud, sweaty, crowded, boozy, swaggering, warehouse party to blast No Money out to the neighbourhood streets. Call the cops, I dare ya!

The vid for The Scare’s second single Could Be Bad is on it’s way, but I have a few shots for you in the meanwhile…

The Scare made me do it! Free gigs, blogs and topless fans…

Everyone likes free shit, right? The good folk at triple j are throwing a party in Radelaide this Thursday starring The Scare with friends Wolf & Cub and Calling All Cars. Entry is FREE but you are advised to rock up early as they’ve been known to have to turn people away. You don’t want to be left out on the street while all your favourite bands are inside, do you? Do you??? I didn’t think so.

Thursday 16th July
The Governor Hindmarsh, Adelaide
FREE Entry
Doors open 6.30pm

Here’s a little something to get you in the mood. Not sure when the last time I was moved to take my shirt off by a band (OK, maybe I remember but I’m keeping it to myself) but the spirit definitely took the fans at The Scare’s recent Corner Hotel, Melbourne show! Check out the swagger of Could Be Bad, the opening track from their forthcoming album:

There’s more photos from that show at The Scare’s new blog: http://oozevoodoo.blogspot.com

Speaking of forthcoming albums, Oozevoodoo is out August 7 and here’s what it looks like! The cover was designed by a good friend of The Scare and theinsound, Mr Jack Ladder:
