
And the ARIA Award nominees are…
An air of excitement has swept through our office today, as the nominees for the 26th annual ARIA Awards are officially in, and a throng of our Aussie artists have had their many talents and achievements recognised.
Strolling out of the 2012 nominations ceremony this morning with a staggering 10 nominations in hand was none other than… *drum roll please*… 360
Uncle Six is up for Best Male Artist, Breakthrough Artist and Best Australian Live Act, as well as Album Of The Year and Best Urban Album for Falling & Flying – and that’s only half of his noms!
The rest include Debaser being given a nod for Best Video (’Boys Like You’), Alex Weltinger’s nomination for Best Cover Art (Falling & Flying) and Scott Horscroft and Philip Threlfall in the Engineer Of The Year cateogory. 360’s producer Styalz Fuego also claimed the award for Producer Of The Year.
Angus Stone might be picking up a swag of pointy gongs too, with nominations for Best Blues & Roots Album (Broken Brights) and Best Male Artist. He’ll be duking it out with Keith Urban though, who has also been nominated in that category.
Meanwhile, Oh Mercy scooped up a nomination for Best Rock Album (Deep Heat) and pop divaRicki-Lee is up for Song Of The Year with ‘Do It Like That’.
A couple of our international artists have also received some ARIA love this year, with Coldplayand David Guetta in the running for the Best International Artist Award.
Congratulations to all the outstanding nominees for 2012! November 29 is going to be one helluva night when the highly anticipated ARIA Awards take place and we’re looking forward to celebrating it in true EMI style.
