Gig Review: Lady Antebellum rock the Opera House

Do not make the mistake of writing off Lady Antebellum as a ‘cute country trio’. Last night I had the pleasure of being captivated by the magic of this multi Grammy Award-winning band.

As the show burst to life at the end of a long, ‘long weekend’, it’s fair to say that my fuel tank was definitely down to its final quarter. Yet, within 10 seconds of the first song I was on my feet, whooping, stomping and hollering with the rest of the sold out concert hall  – it was impossible not to.

It’s not just the addictive nature of the songs themselves (my boyfriend was singing along even though he had never previously heard a track), but the infectious fun and energy that the three core members breath into every single song.

It was quite literally one of the most joyful experiences I have been a part of in a long time. After two hours rocking out with Lady A, I went to bed completely unable to sleep, wired with elation and certain that the band had another two super fans to add to their growing throng!
