RICKI-LEE, MADONNA & ME!
Once in a lifetime (well more than) you have to do something crazy to make you feel really alive and that is exactly what myself and my dear gurl friend Ricki-Lee did recently. On Wednesday, October 10 we flew from Sydney to L.A. to see MADONNA'S MDNA World Tour at the LA Staples Center on the evening of Thursday, October 11. We didn't go alone, we managed to pull together another six Aussie mates to come over with us to experience the QUEEN OF POP live!!
It was totally worth the jetlag, money and experience. If Madonna wasn't coming to Australia we would go to her - you need to Do It Like That. We hired a Limo to take us to the venue and the vibe was electrifying from the moment we arrived. Madonna has always been Ricki and my idol so we were bursting with excitement. The venue is famous in itself for being the home of the LA Lakers and was the last place Michael Jackson was ever on stage while rehearsing for his comeback, which never got to happen. Madonna is one of the last bona fide living legends still around and to see her massive stage before the lights went down already had us crying with excitement. At 10.40pm the show started and it was the best rollercoaster ride you could ever have been on. She delivered like we knew she would and more, whether you are a fan of her older hits or the latest MDNA album you were not disappointed.
For Ricki and myself music is life, it is as important as the air we breathe and this show made us not only feel alive, but blessed to be doing what we get to do each day. Madonna is better than any man-made unnatural drug, the high you get from seeing the master in action is not only inspirational but spiritual. She is just Like A Prayer.
Ricki and I cannot wait to Strike A Pose again at future Madonna shows, which hopefully one day come to Australia, and if she does come we will see you there.
